Hesitates about posting this pic because *I* still feel “chunky”. Then I remembered @loislanenc telling me that I was “sick in the head” in all seriousness last night. #touché #getoveryourselfla #progresstakespatience #friendsgiveittoyouREAL

I’m tweaking the athletic calendar again! While reviewing “Lessons Learned” from this year’s Comp Season, along with the “second round repeat” currently in progress, I realized I need to break the year into four 10-week cycles.

While Cycle 1 will still be the official “Training Season” for the year (hardcore & singularly-focused), the other three will focus on prep for individual competitions and reaching specific body composition goals. I’ll adopt an “8-On/2-Off” rotation so that I’m constantly building on the prior cycle’s gains while leaving wiggle room in my diet & schedule to actually enjoy life. And this way I’m working with (not against) my notoriously-short attention span by constantly keeping things fresh!

I’ll also restrict myself to 3 comps for the year: one cycle event, one endurance race, and one half-marathon. I’m sure my knees will thank me, but it means I have to choose wisely from the wide array of available events each year.

I’m currently in Cycle 2 for this year, so my goals are to lean out some more and get my distance and mileage up for the Rock & Roll Half on July 21st. Since I didn’t feel up for last week’s Ninja Challenge, I’ll only do one other comp for this year. Any suggestions for September/October?
